Goldtime Watch Repairs

All watch repairs that come to our workshop for servicing are thoroughly scrutinised for faults and wear. The movement is completely stripped down and each part is examined for wear and functionality and replaced as needed. The case and movement parts are then cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaning machine. The movement is then assembled and oiled to specifications and then put on our timing machine and corrected accordingly.

If you aren't based locally and would like your watch repaired by us, then you can always send your watch to us, with our secure service. We advise you simply send your watch to us by Royal Mail Special Delivery and with this service you can also insure your watch up to £2500.00. You are free to use other delivery services as well. Always contact us before sending any watch to us, so we can book your repair in.

Our Watch Repair Guarantee

One Year Guarantee

Goldtime Watch Repairs guarantee all watches against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year from the date of original repair or service. If a defect exists, will (1) repair the product at no extra cost, (2) refund the price of the repair or service. A replacement part assumes the remaining guarantee of the original repair or service or 1 Year from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage for you. When a part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes .

Exclusions and Limitations

This guarantee applies to work performed by us only. If the watch casing is opened during the one year period, the guarantee will be voided. Case, parts, crystals, winding and setting parts are not covered, nor are electric parts. Water damage is also not covered in this warranty unless the timepiece is pressure certified by us. Keep in mind that water resistance is not a permanent condition, as the gaskets inside the watch are subject to deterioration over time.

This guarantee does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, misapplication, or products not supplied by Goldtime Watch Repairs; (b) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not an Authorised Service Provider; (c) to a product or a part that has been modified without the written permission of or (d) if any serial number has been removed or defaced.

Guarantee Service

In the unlikely event you have a problem with your watch when you contact us, you will be asked to give your name, address, telephone number, and proof of the original receipt containing a description of the work done and the appropriate serial number(s). We will then take care of everything for you.

Every watch we repair is meticulously inspected, repaired, sealed then tested to the manufacturer standards. We offer a free evaluation for any work from a simple battery change to a complete restoration, our prices are a fixed quote, so there’s no need to worry about any additional charges.

Mechanical watch movements, automatic or watches that need to be wound daily require a different level of service as they have hundreds of moving parts and require lubrication to ensure optimum performance and minimal friction and wear.

We can add or remove links from any type of watch or change a leather strap, if an alternative is provided.

A quartz watch, which uses a battery doesn’t require a service until the battery needs replacing, this is 2-3 years from the time it leaves the factory production line.

Watch crystals can break, scratch or crack from impact or everyday use, not to worry though as these crystals are available to replace as original. We can restore the full value and beauty of any watch for a fraction of the cost of a new one. We select our stock of the highest quality finished crystals or cut crystals to fit any watch whether it’s a modern or vintage style.

This service includes disassembly of the movement, ultrasonically cleaning and lubricating of it, polish the casing and bands, before the watch is re-built and calibrated. Most watch brands require a general service and a movement overhaul every 3-4 years. This is a safe and conservative way to think about preserving your watch.

Replacing your watch’s existing mechanical or electric movement with a modern electronically regulated movement. We maintain the original appearance of the watch conversions do not alter the face, hands, lens or casing of the watch.

Restoration of your vintage mechanical watches is carried out with  care, skill and up most attention to detail. We don’t do trade repairs or restoration and we are uncompromising in our standards and restoration results, whether a watch is valuable in sentiment or monetary value, we adopt the same high standards and results in the restoration of your watch.

For swimmers, divers or people who regularly get their watches wet it is essential to have the seals on your watch checked every 3 years and the watch pressure tested as part of any service, repair or battery replacement.

The crown of the watch is the winder on the side of the watch that is used to set the time. A stem is attached to the crown of the watch and goes into the movement. This allows the watch to be set and wound. Broken stem and crowns can be replaced with original parts to ensure the highest quality repair.

We recommend a tune-up service when your battery needs replacing to keep your watch and bracelet clean and preventative maintenance to keep your watch in perfect condition.
